Subprocessors.
Last updated July 9, 2026
We keep this list as short as we can — the best subprocessor is no subprocessor. Because CaptureBear is local-first, exactly one third party can process customer content on our behalf, and only when you explicitly use the optional Analysis feature.
| Name | Purpose | Data processed | Location |
|---|---|---|---|
| Anthropic PBC | AI analysis of screenshots you explicitly submit via the Analysis feature | Submitted screenshot images and the text visible in them, transiently | United States |
What is deliberately not on this list
- Your storage provider. Uploads go from your Mac directly to a bucket you own, under your own agreement with that provider. We never touch those files, so your provider is your vendor — not our subprocessor.
- Anything on your Mac. Capturing, styling, annotating, exporting, and the local analysis cache all happen on-device and involve no third party.
Related providers
For completeness: capturebear.com is a static site hosted by Vercel Inc. (United States), which does not process customer content, and license payments are handled by our payment processor as described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes
We will update this page at least 14 days before a new subprocessor begins processing customer content, as described in the Data Processing Addendum.
